Welcome to my website! My name is John Cooper, I am a Director of Photography based near Manchester, and I am excited to share my story with you.
I have always had a passion for photography and filmmaking, and I have been fortunate enough to turn that passion into a successful career. I graduated the University of Manchester in 2005, and now with over 13 years of experience in the television industry, I have had the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects, from commercials and documentaries to feature films and television shows, many of which are viewable in my portfolio.
My approach is simple – to create stunning visuals that tell a story. I believe that every project is unique, and I work closely with my clients to understand their vision and bring it to life. I am committed to delivering the highest quality work, and I use the latest technology and techniques to ensure that every shot is perfect.
I am a highly skilled and experienced professional who has been working in the film and video production industry for several years. I have gained extensive knowledge and expertise in all aspects of production, including camera operation, sound recording, lighting, and editing. Throughout my career, I have worked on numerous projects, ranging from small-scale corporate videos to large-scale feature films.
I am known for my ability to work efficiently and effectively under pressure, while always maintaining a positive and professional attitude. One of my biggest strengths is my ability to work as a one-man band. I have my own camera van and enough equipment to cover most shoots single-handedly, without the need to cross-hire any extra kit. This not only saves money on production costs but also means that I can be more flexible and adaptable to any situation.
In addition to my camera and sound equipment, I also own a range of lighting equipment, including a variety of lighting packages for interviews and small to medium-sized setups. This means that I can create the exact look and feel that you are looking for, without the need to hire additional lighting equipment. I also have additional bases in Yorkshire, Oxford, and London, which means that I can travel around the UK at reasonable notice, helping to reduce travel time and hotel expenses to save you money in key areas.
When it comes to equipment, I always ensure I use the latest and most up-to-date equipment. I own the latest Sony FX6 & FX3, along with Sony’s F55 & Sony F5 cinema cameras. I also have an armoury of kit including tripods, monitors, a gimbal, drone, mics, track and dolly, and hazers. This means that I can provide you with the highest quality footage and sound possible. Ultimately, my goal is to help you create a production that you are proud of. I am dedicated to achieving top-notch results, and I am committed to keeping your production on track and within budget. With my skills, knowledge, and equipment, I am confident that I can help you create something truly special.
